Live Free Be Strong – Statement on Charlottesville

LIVE FREE BE STRONG speaks out strongly against the actions taken place by white supremacists this past weekend in #Charlottesville, VA.

This weekend was a difficult one for many of our community. It brought terror and sadness to those in Charlotteville and to those watching and reading about the events from afar, events of a new scale to what America has seen in decades. Watching and reading on pain to those directly involved, listening as members cried #thisisnotUS ,and hoping that this is not the change our president had promised us in his campaign.

Watching, reading, listening, and hoping all have the same sound: silence.

We are at a point where silence is deafening. If we want to stand with Charlottesville, our Jewish community, and all others attacked by this weekend’s demonstrations, we need to stand up and make our voices heard.

LIVE FREE BE STRONG exists as an organization to help empower others and support equality and fair treatment of all, regardless of race, sexual orientation, gender, religion, ect.

LFBS would like to remind the online community that you are not alone. So many of us care and are here.

Our usual motto is “If it’s meant to be, it’s up to ME!”. One thing to remember though is how much we can do when we work together; individually we are one drop, but together we can make an ocean.

LIVE FREE BE STRONG would like to convince everyone to shed a little more love and acceptance in their day. Instead of listening to the news, be a listening ear to someone who needs it. Instead of reading, write down what you feel and send them to your legislators and newspapers.

And most importantly, instead of hoping, start doing. Make your mark on the world- together we can make a difference
